Core Tools: SPC, MSA, FMEA, CP, APQP, PPAP
Description: The six Automotive Core Tools (SPC, MSA, FMEA, Control Plan, PPAP and APQP) are core requirements for any supplier in the automotive industry. Proper use and application of the tools is essential to an effective quality system and satisfied customers.
Objective. This training will:
- Provide an understanding of the basic requirements of each Tool
- Review the purpose and intent of each Core Tool
- Present the barriers to effectiveness of each Core Tool

- Statistical Process Control (SPC) – A collection of statistical methods, used to analyze, adjust and control the process in order to know when processes change and respond accordingly: Normal distribution, Histogram, Control charts, Capability study, Correlation and regression.
- Measurement System Analysis (MSA) – A collection of statistical methods used to assess how much we can trust the information from a gauge. Basic Concepts: Bias, Linearity, Stability, Discrimination, Gage capability, Repeatability and Reproducibility, Conducting a Measurement Systems Analysis: Gage Repeatability and Reproducibility study (GRR) and Attributive RR,
- Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (FMEA) – the risk analysis of a product, part or process, in order to find and fix a problem before something breaks or someone gets hurt
- Control Plan – a summary of the process and parts’ controls used, in order to be sure that our customer gets good products,
- Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP) – the management of product development: define, objectives, inputs and outputs for each APQP fase,
- Production Part Approval Process (PPAP) – Identify the requirements for approval of parts production in order to make sure that we understand all customer requirements, and we can meet them under actual production conditions.
Methodology:
- Presentation, examples, discussions, exercises and case study
- Statistical tools can be presented based on excel or Minitab application

Target group:
Personnel from company departments: quality, product/ process engineering, product team leaders. Participants who pass the final examination will receive a training certificate issued by the organizer.
